Our History

New Destiny Christian Center is associated with the General Council of the Assemblies of God and began in the fall of 2005 although the complete history of the church runs much deeper than that.

Senior Pastor Keenan Roberts planted Destiny Church in the northern metro-Denver suburbs in September 2002. In the summer of 2003, Ray Smith accepted the Senior Pastorate of Vision Fellowship of Thornton, another north-area Denver suburb. Pastor Keenan and Pastor Ray had known one another since 1994 when they were both in youth ministry in various capacities in the Rocky Mountain District. As a building block on the friendship of the Senior Pastors, Destiny (as a newer church) and Vision (as a more established church) shared in numerous ministry endeavors together. There was a dynamic connection and the relationship of the two churches continued to blossom!

Then, in September 2005 - following sixteen months of seeking God and much investigation, both churches completed a near-unanimous vote to marry and become one new church together under the Pastoral leadership of Senior Pastor Keenan Roberts. The church immediately began meeting at Northglenn High School to accomodate the size of the church and the many Sunday morning ministry activities for children, youth and adults.
