New Destiny Christian Center
* Safety Guidelines for Coming Back To Church
* The Ministry of the Church is Essential
Philippians 2: 3-5
3 Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. 4 Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too. 5 You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had.
As we begin to conduct two services to increase and assist with social distancing and other health and safety measures, the items listed below will be a very important part of the safety guidelines and precautions each Sunday and whenever ministry takes place at New Destiny! We appreciate your support for keeping one another safe while worshipping the King of Kings and growing together!
Please note: If you are sick, not feeling well, or have a pre-existing health condition please remain at home and enjoy the Livestream of our 10:30am Service. Also, if your immune system is compromised or you are vulnerable physically in any way, we encourage you to remain at home and watch the Livestream. We will look forward to enthusiastically welcoming you back to church when you are feeling much better and able to attend in person.
Here is a list of what you can expect when you arrive, some suggestions from the Centers for Disease Control and conduct we are encouraging!
Upon your arrival you will notice the power and the presence of God! Your Church is a praying Church! Your Pastor and Staff are men and women of prayer! You will notice that the glorious Spirit of the Lord is ready to move in and move upon your life and the lives of your loved ones! Even though you haven’t been in God’s House recently, it has been filled with MUCH prayer and intercession for your life these many weeks! Come in! Taste and see that the Lord is good and immerse yourself in all that God has for your life! (Isaiah 61:1-3!)
Upon your arrival you will also find that both sets of front doors will remain open so entry and exit can take place without a need for anyone to touch the doors or handles.
The doors to the Sanctuary will remain open to accomplish the same.
Bulletins and newcomer materials will not be distributed for a period of time.
You will find hand sanitizer positioned throughout the facility. We also encourage the washing of hands before, during, and after Services. This can be accomplished in the restrooms and also the kitchen area.
Restrooms will be used one person at a time. Please wash hands before leaving the restroom with soap and water. Families/parents with children can certainly utilize the facilities at the same time.
Face masks and face coverings are recommended by the CDC when 6’ social distancing is not possible. We encourage the wearing of such but it is not mandatory and is entirely up to each individual. We also recognize that there are many opinions and schools of thought from the medical community and healthcare professionals regarding masks and face coverings and whether they are helpful or not as it relates to COVID-19. The bottom line is that if everyone will remain diligent about 6’ this will certainly help and benefit those who are not wearing a mask or face covering.
We are asking that everyone please be respectful of our request of 6’ social distancing between people that you do not live with. We are all certainly ecstatic to begin worshipping together again but we all need to be team players with no touching. This means that we are asking that you be mindful of no shaking hands, hugging, kissing or touching others.
Special Reminder from Pastor Keenan
Let’s remember the main thing: we are together having church! Let’s be careful, use wisdom, and have a cooperative spirit of unity concerning the privilege of being able to corporately worship with each other! We are in NO way fearful but that does not mean our conduct should be cavalier or inconsiderate of other people’s concerns. Esteem one another better than yourself and let’s worship God enthusiastically and with tremendous fervor....while being careful. I’m going to be careful AND receive a mighty outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon my life! You can too! PK
The water fountain will not be accessible. (Please bring water bottles from home if you feel you will need water.)
The Cafe will not be in operation until further notice.
On Sundays, the 9am and 10:30am Services will be the ministry functions that are offered until we decide to add more pieces of the pie--such as Bible U.
Kids Ministries will not take place until we make a decision that this can function safely for our Staff and for the children. If you have small children this is a special opportunity for them to be a part of our entire Church Family (and your family) worshipping together! You can always step out with them if needed but we love children and want them to be impacted by the presence of the Holy Spirit in God’s house.
The Nursery will not be staffed but will be open for parents of infants and toddlers to utilize. Please keep social distancing in mind when in the Nursery.
Our Clean Team will be wiping down handles, faucets and high touch areas throughout the building.
The seating in the Sanctuary will look different than usual. It will be arranged for social distanced seating. This means chairs will not be in sections and rows. Rather, chairs will be grouped together in 2‘s, 3‘s, 4‘s, etc, and spaced apart around the Sanctuary. We are asking families to sit together and if your family needs more chair/s you are welcome to bring more to your grouping (while keeping the proper 6’ distance from other individuals/families seated around you.) If you are an individual feel free to place your chair in a suitable location or ask an Usher for assistance.
The receiving of Offerings will also happen differently on Sundays. We will not have Ushers pass the offering plates throughout the church. There will be one offering plate that will be placed at the front of the Church where your Tithes and Offerings can be placed. You can do this before or during the Service. Many of you utilize our Online Giving options through EasyTithe and these digital alternatives will, of course, remain available to use 24/7/365.
The side doors to the Sanctuary will be opened between Services to increase ventilation and air flow. They may also be opened for a period of time during a Service if we deem it beneficial to do so.
We are asking everyone to be very conscientious before and after Services during times when we typically greet and fellowship. Please enjoy doing this outside of the building and keeping it to a minimum. We may also give direction to the dismissal of everyone at the conclusion of the Services to assist with social distancing.
We have asked people from our New Destiny church family to make a commitment to the new, 9am Service. Numerous people have done so and we greatly appreciate this! If the 10:30am Service has a consistent, larger attendance we may ask for others to help us and consider making the move to the 9am Service.
God bless you and we’ll see you at Church!
Isaiah 61: 1-3
1The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is upon me, for the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to comfort the brokenhearted and to proclaim that captives will be released and prisoners will be freed.
2 He has sent me to tell those who mourn that the time of the Lord’s favor has come, and with it, the day of God’s anger against their enemies.
3 To all who mourn in Israel, he will give a crown of beauty for ashes, a joyous blessing instead of mourning, festive praise instead of despair. In their righteousness, they will be like great oaks that the Lord has planted for his own glory.
